The Trouble with Parris (Grey River 7) by @Maiadylanauthor #eroticromance #shifter

Faced with her own mortality, Parris Church seeks out one of the only people in the world she can trust. Before Parris can get to her, the seizures that have been plaguing force her into hiding.

Jase and Rhys Wilson find a woman hurt and hiding behind their garden shed. Then their day gets a little strange. It turns out that she’s their mate, on the run from a mad man, and suffering from a medical condition she’s not interested in talking about. Despite her belief that there is no future for the three of them, Jase and Rhys are determined to give her a reason to live.

When they are finally given a solution that might help, Parris is followed to Grey River by a friend in need and an enemy with revenge in mind. Parris, Jase, and Rhys must deal with both if they're going to have any chance of a future.

EXCERPT - PG13
“Parris, can you hear me?” Dr. Carson’s tone was calm and unhurried. “I need you to open your eyes and talk to me.”
Parris pushed aside nausea and pain and opened her eyes farther. She blinked rapidly to clear her gaze and slowly brought the doctor’s face into focus.
“That’s it, come on back to us, sweetness.”
Parris turned her head slightly and caught sight of Jase and Rhys standing close to her bed on the opposite side to the doctor. They stood with mirrored expressions of concern mixed with relief, no doubt from seeing her awake.
“Parris?”
She turned back toward the doctor, thankful that the room was no longer spinning as fast as it had been moments before.
“Tell me how you feel?”
Parris sighed. “Other than a headache that could quite potentially put a hippopotamus on its ass, I’m just peachy.”
Chris grinned as he shone a small penlight into her eyes. She winced at the twinge of pain the light caused but froze at the sound of growling that echoed against the walls of her hospital room. Chris winked at her before he lifted his gaze to the two men growling—fucking growling—from the opposite side of the bed. “Ignore these two, they just don’t like the fact that you’re in pain.”
“No fucking kidding,” Rhys snarled, and there was a distinct distortion to his voice.
Again Parris found herself wondering what in the hell they were. And if Rhys and Jase were both telepathic and had powers that had their eyes changing colors, then perhaps Chris Carson did too. Melaina had told her she could trust everyone here and that they had nothing but her safety and best interests in mind, but did she know they were kinda possessed?
“You’ve had another seizure,” Chris informed her, and Parris knew it was a result of her using her powers. “You had a pretty severe nose bleed, that I figure was triggered by the blood vessel that was damaged during the seizure itself. Now, you need to make a decision, Parris. We’ve talked about this in private since I admitted you a week ago, and without any further incidents, I haven’t pushed you to let Rhys and Jase in on what is going on with you. However, this last seizure was a doozy, and without Melaina here, you are going to need the support I know these two growling knuckleheads can give you but only if you are open and truthful with each other.”
Chris looked up at stared pointedly at Rhys and Jase. “And only if all of you are open and honest with each other. That means you two bastards are going to have to man up and tell this woman what she needs to know. Now, I’m going to head out and grab some of the test results I’ve been waiting on. I will be back here in about fifteen minutes.” With that cryptic message to the room, he swept out the door.
Jase reached over and clasped her hand in his. When she met his gaze, she felt a connection within her start to pulse.
“Sweetheart, are you okay? You scared the shit out of us.”
Parris looked between him and Rhys and could read the fear they had for her clearly in their expressions. Before leaving, Melaina had told her to trust these men, and Chris had basically just said the same damn thing. Taking a breath, she opened her mouth and took a chance. “I’m dying.”

Book Showcase: Half-Soul (The Realm Book 1) by Katherine Rhodes @Mistress_KayR

Half-Soul (The Realm Book 1)

Hell called to his soul, but his soul resisted.
Or that’s what Asher Terhune believed.

Born from the demonic seduction of his human mother, his birth destroyed her marriage. They were left with only a Guardian and Watcher to protect them from his demon heritage. Born with a half-soul, Asher quickly learned to use the Seven Deadly Sins to fill the hole inside himself.

His favorite sin was Lust.

Women had no chance of a second night with Asher, once he was done with them. And he had no intention of changing his ways. Until the sweet, calm, caring Sarah Illfrig rocked his world, and refused his bed.

Asher found her refusal unacceptable and took on the challenge of seducing her. Sarah pushed him away even as the desire she felt for him was pulling her in.

But Sarah harbored her own secrets, and when the Guardian and the Watcher found out, it became imperative to keep Sarah and Asher apart.

EXCERPT

“I’m sorry this turned into such a damn mess tonight,” Asher said, helping her out of the car at her apartment.
“It was only those demons at the end that were any kind of problem,” Sarah said. “They kind of put a damper on the whole vibe. Is Vassago really going to be able to make a claim on his insurance? I didn’t know they had a demon clause.”

Asher laughed. “Are you okay with all of this? A week ago you were just Sarah, the girl whose sickness no one could figure out.”

She paused. “You know, as strange as this is going to sound, yes. I’m okay with it. It explains so much about everything that’s gone on in my life and with my health. I’m oddly comforted by the fact I’m not normal and no doctor will be able to cure this. I did everything right, but this is beyond what regular medicine can do. And I’m okay with that.” She smiled sheepishly. “Especially if it means I get to be close to you.”

Asher returned the smile. “Does this mean I’m off your shit list?”

“Mostly,” Sarah answered.

“Mostly?”

Sarah keyed the door to the building open. “Mostly. We’ll see if I wake up with a job tomorrow.”

“I’m not going to fire you,” Asher said. “That used to happen after we slept together.”

Sarah looked at him. “Like I said, we’ll see if I wake up with a job in the morning.”

Asher got it. He rushed in through the door behind her and spun her against the wall, carefully. “I’m really that far off your shit list?”

“You’ve done everything right, Asher,” she said. “You stuck to every boundary I set up. You’ve been nothing but a gentleman. The only thing you were forward about was finding me yesterday evening and asking me to help you with the emptiness. That’s not really an infraction in my opinion. After tonight, that whole protecting everyone that you and Gad and Vassago did, you’re mostly off my ‘do not fly’ list.”

He leaned a hand on the wall and pushed a little closer. “And what do I have to do to get completely off your ‘do not fly’ list?”

“Two things.” She smiled. “That I wake up still employed tomorrow and how many times you can make me come.”

Asher couldn’t formulate an answer. He gave up and dropped his head to hers, pressing his lips across hers. His first taste of her was one of sugar and strawberries and the scent of fresh ocean air rose up around them. Her lips were soft and careful, and there was still a hint of fear in them. That she was willing to welcome him up even with that fear spoke volumes for her courage. But he had no intention of letting her go, in any sense of that. Tomorrow morning he would confess his darkest sins to her, but for the moment, he wanted to savor her taste and feel her body.

He pulled away from the careful, hesitant kiss and brushed a few stray strands out of her face. “Show me upstairs. Or I’ll start working on condition two right now.”

Sarah’s eyes lit up, and a small smile appeared on her face. “That’s not really incentive.”

“It is if I get you naked right here.”

She pulled her lip between her teeth. That expression had never worked on Asher until just now, when the lust it conveyed and the potential for sexual promise went straight through him and made his dick jump. Asher leaned into Sarah’s ear. “You have a naughty streak, don’t you?”

“You’ll have to find out.” She ducked under his arm and headed for the elevator.

The doors opened for them and Asher ducked in just behind her. She had already pressed the button for her floor and he took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her and pull her against him. She gasped lightly when she felt his length against her lower back, then turned and caught his eyes. “Did I do that?”

“You,” he breathed into her ear. “I have done everything in my power to keep myself in check around you.”

“And what a fine façade you put up,” she answered.

Asher nibbled on her ear. “If we weren’t going only seven floors, we’d have to stop this elevator.” He realized his hands were in the perfect spot, and slid them up just a little to wrap his hands around her firm, pert breasts. He plumped them lightly, and Sarah let out a breath.

“Your hands feel wonderful.”

“I can assure you that your breasts feel just as good.”

He brought his hands back down off of her just as the car slid to a stop. He might threaten to rip her clothes off and take her in the elevator, but he wasn’t really that much of a bastard. She was too much perfection for him to really consider it.

The first time, anyway.

Sexcerpt:

Eirene floated down from a pure cloud of bliss. Delicious shivers stroked her body when Finn kissed her forehead, then trailed kisses down her temple, making a beeline to nip at her neck. He was semi-hard inside of her and Eirene could feelanother wave of lust teasing her core. She trailed her fingers over his skin and arched her back so her nipples could brush his chest. She heard the low rumble of laughter in Finn's throat as she began to run her fingertips up and down his back, then slowly caress his tight butt cheeks.

“You're as insatiable as I am.”

Eirene smiled. “I never realized I was ohhh...”

Finn's right arm encircled her waist while his left arm braced his weight against the step as he pulled out of her. She sighed, her body boneless and sated. She linked her arms around his neck when Finn lifted her and carried her up the stairs. It felt so good being near Finn. She had never felt safer than she did now, in Finn's arms. She buried her face in his neck, licking and gently sucking his throat. She inhaled his scent of spice and musk and their joint sensual smell. God, his scent was making her want him again.
Finn walked towards her bedroom and to the bathroom.

“How?”

“I can see even in the dark, remember?”

Finn set her down in the bathroom before turning on the tap for her. Eirene entered the stall, sighing as the warm water gently rained on her back, her legs wobbly after their passionate lovemaking.

“You go ahead,” he said. “I'll get our clothes from downstairs.”

Eirene had other things in mind.

“A kiss before you go?” She asked as her eyes seduced him. She stepped back to allow Finn to enter the stall.

Finn swooped to take her mouth in another heart stopping kiss. Fire started to swell in her belly. Eirene molded her body against his, their tongues teasing each other. Her hands splayed over his chest, her palms overly sensitive, enjoying the play of his muscles beneath them. Finn drew a hard breath before crushing her to him. Excitement poured into the apex between her thighs when Finn's cock swelled against her stomach. His breath was harsh with need as his stubble scrapped against her neck before dipping towards her breasts. Eirene arched her back and gave a rapturous moan when his mouth captured her left nipple, twirling the tight erect bud around his tongue. Her hips nudged against him and she smiled when she heard his low growl.

She laughed softly.

“Our clothes,” she whispered.

“Can wait,” he muttered against her areola before he gently grazed it with his teeth.

Eirene reveled at the silky feel of his hair as she held his head about her breast. She moaned at the jolts of electricity his tongue ignited, causing her femininity to weep again. She lifted her leg against his hip and reached down between them to slide her hand up and down Finn's heated shaft. With a growl, Finn lifted her to allow her to place her legs around his waist. The warmth of the shower spray heightened the sensual atmosphere. Finn lifted her and gently backed her against the wall.

Eirene returned every hard kiss, every thrust of Finn's tongue against hers. She held him tight, urging him to take her, her gasps coming fast from her lips. Finn ended the kiss and looked at her with smoldering hunger. Eirene's eyes widened, then fell to half-mast when she felt Finn's hardness slowly sink into her again. She moaned at the pleasurable sensation of her channel readily bathing his shaft with her slick juices.

“Eirene, look at me. I want to see your eyes as I take you. I want to know how much you want me.”
Eirene's eyes widened. His commanding words fed her excitement, and she did as he demanded. She looked at his eyes, turbulent with desire. The gold flecks were back in his midnight blue pupils, looking like tiny rays of the sun against a lunar eclipse. The heat of his hunger caressed her, teased her, and claimed her. She felt as though his heat had tiny tendrils which licked at her skin and teased her hardened nipples. She gasped and hummed when Finn placed his hands underneath her ass to hold her closer, his thrusts bringing her nearer to the precipice. Finn turned on the heat by pumping faster, harder, and deeper. Eirene's breath caught in her throat. She gripped his shoulders to steady herself. Her eyelids wanted to close at the sheer ecstasy of Finn's rod thrusting into her. She whimpered, then looked down. Her channel's lips felt thick and slick as it ate every inch of Finn's cock, while it appeared and disappeared into her.

“Eirene…look at me.”

Futuristic, the classics, mystery, horror and of course romance from sweet to extra spicy--the genre doesn’t matter as long as the stories capture her interest and take her on an adventure. You can often find her relaxing with Bram Stoker, Stephen King, Herman Melville, Jayne Krentz, Linda Howard, Virginia Henley, Delilah Devlin, Jaci Burton, Jaid Black or Angela Knight. She soon discovered a love for writing and characters just waiting to tell their stories. Since that time, writing has become an obsession.
