#NewRelease: Fractured Fantasies: Valentine's Venom by Torie James #Erotica #Fantasy @Writergurl216

When Gods collide and an innocent taunt turns into a fascinating challenge, the rules are: There are no rules. Enter a world of wicked intimacy, tempting desires and carnal challenges that ring rife with passion’s promise. With the gauntlet thrown and the stakes rising higher, the lines between agony and ecstasy blur with shattering rapture. And more often than not, we discover too late that simmering desires left unchecked are deadlier than the rest.

Book One: We Wear The Mask

In a sea of burning glances, sensual disguise hides more than a lovely face and vulnerable heart. Step onto a stage of madness where seething shadows breed deadly lies and the discovery of what lies beneath unleashes a storm of merciless passion.

Book Two: Crowning Glory

When a cheating, shameless beauty bends men to the will of her own greedy hunger, the lust of her ever growing appetite proves to be the thorn on which they’re hung. The path to paradise leads down a ruthless road of betrayal and a loving husband’s broken heart and public pride hammer the lesson home.

Book Three: You Never Forget Your First

A brilliant scientist and her adoring husband recall their tender beginnings on the evening that will change the world and their lives forever. But even as joyous wonder unfolds to introduce the next stage in human technology, a chance decision will prove that the echoes of uncommon love last longer than any earthly affection.

((The Excerpt is pretty PG-13 but the book itself is a 4/5 heat rating))
"Enough talk of boobies and wieners." Himeros slurred. "We need more action around here. More fun." He sat back. "I say, we cut loose and have some fun." He glanced at Eros. "You know, like we used to. Before your man card was revoked."
Eros cast his brother a droll look. "Not gonna rise to the bait, bro."
"Hear tell you can't rise to anything much." Himeros accused.
"That's the best you got?"
"Olympian Pissing Contest. Take 400." Kalypso sang.
"It's not a contest. A contest implies competition of which I have none." Eros shot back.
"So, you're saying love trumps all? That its stronger than lust or illusion?" Himeros purred.
Eros nodded. "Job security."
"I beg to differ. I think lust overpowers." Himeros took a swig form his cup.
"You're both pathetic. Illusion. Hands down." Kalyso hiccupped, waving her hand.
Eros rubbed his head. He already knew how this would end but he was drunk, lonely and bored.
Bad combination.
"Fine. Let's see who's right then."
His half brother and sister howled, Kalypso nearly falling from her chair in happiness.
"Now you're talking. Rules?" She asked.
Himeros sneered. "Rules? What are you? New? There are no rules."
"Even better!"
Eros studied his buffed nails. "Who wants to go first?"
"Me." Kalypso jumped up. "I've kept my eye on this little morsel for a while now. And it's all coming together finally. Anyone fancy a bit of French Food?" She crowed, waving a hand in the air, turning them all to smoky gold swirls and vanishing from the Great Hall.
Moments later, all three perched atop the curling bannister of a dual, winding staircase crowded over with hapless mortals. Each used their powers to remain invisible, observing only.
Kalypso clapped happily, pointing down and singling out a man. "There he is." She quickly told her brothers the game being played and sat back, smugly.
"Submitted for your approval, boys..."

Book Trailer

Excerpt

Joel Riley was a difficult captain to work under, and for his first season in the Deep, Sean was pretty sure he despised the man. But another season in he’d grown accustomed to the captain’s volatile temper and inability to compromise. Joel had been a miner all his life, born on Titan to a family of miners. He had the sea in his veins and Ariel was his heart. There was a confidence to Joel that drew the crew to him and an arrogance that kept him slightly out of reach. Rugged, strong, and built for hard labor, he was the exact opposite of Sean—and yet of all the crew, Sean felt closest to Joel. Sean understood the captain’s approach, his passions, and he trusted the older man with his life.
“Captain, is everything all right?” Sean said from the entrance.
Joel jumped, knocking his knees on the control board. “Jesus, boy! What you doing creeping around in the middle of the night?”
“I wasn’t creeping,” Sean said.
“Skulking around, spying on people, and you reckon that’s not creeping,” Joel grumbled.

Sean thought better of continuing into an argument. If Joel’s mood was testy they were going to go around in circles annoying each other.
“I was about to turn in,” Sean said, deciding it was best to be passive.
“You looking for permission?” Joel’s tone was still curt, but it wasn’t really directed at Sean. Something else was bothering him.
“No, I just thought I’d come in and say good night.”
Joel sighed, apparently appeased by the lack of confrontation. He gave Sean a weak, tired smile. “Better get some rest, Doc. Couple of hours and Harvey will need you to stitch something, no doubt.”
Wasn’t that the truth. Harvey, their engineer, was pretty good when it came to mineral mining and keeping the ship moving, but he could injure himself getting into his dive suit.
“What about you, Sir?”
“I’m not planning on cutting anything,” Joel said, his smile strengthening.
“I meant are you turning in?”
Joel hesitated. Usually the captain was impossible to read, but every so often Sean got hints of the man behind the muscle. There was a softness to him, hidden behind the square jaw and piercing eyes. Sean had always been drawn to his vulnerable side. It crept in from time to time, reminding Sean that the captain, despite liking to pretend he was a demigod, was just a man. A good man.
“Not yet.” A shadow seemed to be hanging over him.
“Would you mind some company?” Sean offered, sensing the captain had something he needed to get off his chest.
“Suit yourself.” It was as close to an invitation as Joel ever gave anyone.

Guest Interview with Katherine Kingston #FlavoursofSage #Romance #NaughtyLiterati

The business ones
Please give us a short introduction about yourself
I’ve been writing for about 30 years under a couple of different pseudonyms. For most of the 1990s I was a regular contributor to several magazines, but decided to try my first novel when I was invited to write for Ellora’s Cave early in 2000. I was stunned and thrilled when they bought that first novel and then a number of others.  Unfortunately, due to some well-publicized circumstances, I’ve since pulled all of my books from EC and have begun to reissue them myself.  I also write with a group called The Naughty Literati. We’ve put out six anthologies so far, with another on the way and two more in the planning stages.
What genre(s) do you write in and why?
I write sensual and erotic romance in a variety of genres: contemporary, historical, paranormal and futuristic.
Tell us about your latest release
Actually there are two. Suburban Dominants #1, Dominant Boys of Summer, is a short contemporary menage/BDSM story. This was originally released by EC almost ten years ago now. I’ve rewritten it to remove some of the language I never liked and update a few things. Quick Blurb: Julie is in love with Dave. She’s sure of that. But if he really is the man for her, why is her sexual response to him so tepid? She’s afraid she’s frigid, and Dave deserves better than that. Dave’s best friend Nick guesses at a different answer and proposes a way to test out his theory.
On January 6, the Naughty Literati released the anthology Naughty Chances, a collection of winter stories. My story, Sophie’s Christmas Gargoyle is a paranormal romance. Quick blurb: When Sophie helps rescue a battered woman, she gets more than one surprise from the woman’s other self-appointed protector.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?
The only real ceremony is to be sure that I have a cup of coffee beside me in the morning or a glass of water in the afternoon. I tend to drink while I write.  In the evening I might even have a glass of wine beside the computer.
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication
I think I got up from my desk when I read the email and let out a loud hoot.  Then I started jumping up and down and had to run and tell my husband.  I’d already had a lot of short stories accepted by various magazines at that point, but a novel was a big, scary venture, so it was thrilling to have it accepted for publication.
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?
No, not really. I’m an introvert and have a very small circle of close friends. They were thrilled for me. Nobody else cared much one way or the other.  About the only thing it did was motivate me to keep writing.
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere! Watching other people, reading, movies, TV, even song lyrics.
Who is your favourite character and why?
It’s almost always the main characters I’m currently writing about. If I can’t fall in love with and adore the characters I’m creating, readers won’t either, so I always make them lovable and intriguing people—not perfect, but flawed in interesting ways.

The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories?
All I have to work with as an author is what’s in my head, either through my life experience, reading, other media, or just imagination, so in that sense, it’s all “me.” My husband has accused me of having a head full of sex and violence, and there is lots of that in there, but there are plenty of other things as well: interesting people, odd ideas, fantastic dreams and imaginary journeys, etc.
Who is your least favourite of the characters you’ve written? Why?
In the next book in the Suburban Dominants story, Nick’s Lady, which should release in a month or so, there’s an ex who stalks my heroine Andrea and creates a very embarrassing scene for her at her place of employment.
The steamiest scene from your books
There are lots of them!  But in Dominant Boys of Summer, there’s a climactic scene involving Julie, Dave, and Nick that made me sweat when I was writing it and still makes me hot when I go back and re-read or edit it.
Favourite comfort food?
Dark chocolate and peppermint bark

The fast ones
Favourite colour? Purple
Favourite pet? My first and only dog.
Dog or cat? Dog
Coffee or tea? Coffee
Quickie or candles? Both!
Hunky or chunky? Um… Can I have lean and maybe a little mean?
Suit & tie or jeans & boots? Suit & tie
Walk in the park or chat over cocktails?  Either, as long as it’s with the right person.

Accepting that need and using it to build a relationship on that basis challenges her. Accepting that Nick is a part of the relationship with Dave adds another layer of complexity to an already complicated situation.
