Special Guest: Bebe Balocca

Hi all,

I have a special guest for you on this beautiful Sunday. She likes her snacks healthy, spends a lot of her time writing and has found the exact location of the G-spot with the help of an editor.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to
Bebe Balocca!

The business ones

Please give us a short introduction about yourself

I started my journey writing romance years ago, but got serious about it a year ago. I began writing to specific publishers’ guidelines and polishing up my manuscripts for submission. By early summer, I’ll have seven novels/novellas out with Total-E-Bound and Ellora’s Cave, and I’m still writing, of course. Under a different name, I write culture and parenting articles, and I also write and edit for an educational publisher.

What genre(s) do you write in and why?

Erotic romance. I have pieces that are paranormal and that have lots of humor, but you’ll find a high heat level in all of them.

Tell us about your latest release
Bubbles and Troubles, Book One of my Prescott Woods series, is a contemporary story that is set in the fictional new-age village of Charade, Kentucky and the bordering woods. Of course, there are loads of hot erotic scenes, but Bubbles has some great humor as well. I had a blast writing it.

Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?

I am super fortunate in that my husband supported my desire to convert our attic into my office. It’s quiet and decorated just how I like it (warm colors and natural materials) and I even have a bed up here for naps. My miniature dachshund, Scarlett, gets cozy in her chair next to me as I settle in to write.

Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication

I was elated! It’s been a lifelong dream to write fiction and get it published. I was completely thrilled.

Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?

Well, writing erotica is, um, an exciting occupation… It’s nothing but good for one’s love life, as my adoring husband can attest.

Where do you find inspiration?

I tend to think up hot little scenes and then concoct the stories and characters to go with them and bring them to life.

Who is your favourite character and why?

Gosh, that’s a tough one. Right now, with Bubbles and Troubles on the brain, I love Carmen. She’s smart and independent, and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. And she has lots of fun with Brock, too.

A favourite line from one of your books

From A Ghost on Two Wheels: Fleetingly, I think how ironic it is that I have two versions of my lover in the room with me and neither one is technically alive…

Your favourite drink and food when writing

I drink loads of herbal tea while writing, and I love to have baby carrots and apples to crunch on as well.

The nosy ones

How much of the real “you” is in your stories?

I can imagine myself and my reactions in all the scenarios my characters encounter, but there’s certainly a lot of fiction in there, too.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?

Well, my girl crushes were on Scarlett O’Hara and Erica Kane (of the soap “All My Children”) as I was growing up. I thought they were the embodiments of feminine power and beauty. My boy crush, of course, was Rhett Butler. Poor silly Scarlett, realizing how awesome he was when it was too late.

What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?

The anatomical ones are pretty embarrassing. For example, I didn’t know exactly where the G-spot was (though I THOUGHT I did) but thankfully my editor pointed that error out for me.

The steamiest scene from your books

I really love the hot tub/mud bath scene from Bubbles and Troubles. It combines the decadent fabulousness of a spa visit with hot sex, and there are some dreamy elements in there as well.

Favourite comfort food?

Tomato soup with loads of oregano and a grilled cheese sandwich

A person you admire

I admire people who have been through pain and made mistakes, who own up to their flaws and keep striving to improve themselves and to make the world a better place. I admire survivors who manage to remain positive, at least part of the time, and I am always inspired by their stories.

The fast ones

Favourite colour?

Wine red

Favourite pet?

My dappled black-and-tan miniature dachshund, Scarlett

Dog or cat?

Dog

Coffee or tea?

Both

Quickie or candles?

Both, please!

Hunky or chunky?

Hunky

Suit & tie or jeans & boots?

Nope, can’t choose here either – though my hot hubby wears cowboy boots with his suit and totally rocks it.

Walk in the park or chat over cocktails?

Walks are lovely, but I’ll take the chat over cocktails most days.

Author bio:

I live in a teeny-tiny town in the southeastern United States, surrounded by rolling hills and lots of cows. My house is brimming with my rowdy sons, hot husband, and more pets than I can shake a stick at. When I close my eyes, though, I’m in a white stucco villa on the Mediterranean, sipping a martini and watching the turquoise waves crash at my feet. Next to my hot husband, naturally.

I love to read and write erotic romance, fantasy, and sci-fi because of the escape factor: I want to leave the ordinary and travel somewhere exotic, unusual, and sexually-charged in a book. My characters are thrust into unpredictable situations, and they respond with humor, open-mindedness, and loads of scorching passion. I hope you enjoy escaping with me into the sultry world of erotic romance.

Bubbles and Troubles

Prescott Woods is in trouble! A belly dancing lawyer, a stray cat of highly questionable origin, and a particularly malodorous gnome come to the rescue.
Carmen loves living in Charade, Kentucky. The quirky Appalachian village is everything that Chicago wasn't. Populated by modern day New Agers, Charade is like Mayberry with tie-dyed shirts, organic food, and incense thrown in for flavour.
When Calvin Prescott makes plans to sell his land to a high-end property developer, Carmen fears that the town she calls home will be changed forever. A new neighbourhood of multi-million dollar mansions would spell disaster for Charade's simple, small town charm.
Brock and his family moved to Prescott Woods over two hundred years ago. Like the other magical beings of the woods, they are immortal and imbued with special powers. Destruction of Prescott Woods would mean more than a change of pace for Brock and his kind—it would mean death. Brock can take on the appearance of anything—including animals of all sizes and shapes—in order to get closer to Carmen and save his home.
As Carmen learns more of the secrets of Prescott Woods, she finds that Brock is irresistibly strokeable, regardless of his appearance. She also uncovers danger, family drama, and the most luxuriant subterranean spa she can imagine.
