The
business questions
Please
give us a short introduction about yourself
I was born and raised in Germany, met my
Australian husband in Canada and followed him the other end of the world in the
late 1990s. I have two beautiful girls who keep me on my toes, a dog, and a
couple of budgies. I started a writing a few years ago, and can’t stop the
voices in my head since – but I’m loving their company.
Tell
us about your latest release.
My latest release is book #3 in the
Australian Sports Stars series, I think I love you. It’s about soccer player
Markus DeLeon and childhood friend Sarah who cross the line between of being friends
and lovers – and don’t seem to be able to know how to deal with the new
situation.
Describe
your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication.
OMG, I think we went out for dinner that
day, celebrated, and I’m sure I told everyone who’d listen … and those who
wouldn’t. I felt humbled and excited about the idea that a publisher liked my
story. It was really bizarre. Nowadays I get a lame “Well done, mum” from my
girls, which makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
Where
do you find inspiration?
I usually get new ideas for my books
while on holidays. We all like travelling and we’re always having a great time.
So most of my stories are set based on places I’ve been to.

What’s
the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?
Oh wow, considering that English is my
second language, there are quite a few, but sorry, I cannot recall one in
particular.
Favourite
comfort food?
Unfortunately I’ve accumulated a nice
amount of food intolerances, so comfort food doesn’t exist anymore – but it
used to be bikkies.

After
three years away as the goalkeeper for an English soccer club, Markus has been
happy to be back in Australia. He’d missed his family and friends, including
Sarah. He’s known her since childhood, and often protected her from the teasing
of other children and the troubling consequences of a broken home.
When they
attend their friends’ wedding, a new light is cast on their friendship…
Sarah is
fresh out of a bad relationship, and Markus has always been the one she can
confide in. Maybe it’s the magic of the wedding—or how stunning he looks in a
tux—but the attraction between them intensifies in ways they’d never
imagined.
But
sometimes when risking what you have, you might lose everything…
Following
a passionate encounter, Markus isn’t sure how to handle this new aspect of his
relationship with Sarah, and literally flees the scene for the coast. Sarah is
unsure how to react to his sudden departure, but is soon knocked off course by
misunderstandings and a frightening family emergency.
Markus
realises his mistake and wants to make things right, but he also faces
obstacles. He’s been offered an exciting new job, and an attractive newcomer to
the neighbourhood is eager to claim his attention, though the last thing Markus
needs is another confusing relationship.
Can Sarah
and Markus face the fear and doubt—and the potential loss of their lifelong
friendship—to give their love a chance?
